Configuring Up-Sells & Related Products

Purpose of Up-Sells & Related Products

The Up-Sells & Related Products settings in the Any.Rentals platform enable businesses to enhance the shopping experience and drive additional sales by promoting complementary or alternative products to customers. These features are configurable for both up-sells (higher-end or complementary items) and related products (items frequently bought together or relevant to the customer’s selection).

This feature is accessible via Admin Dashboard > Configuration > Sales & Rentals > Up-Sells & Related Products.

Settings and Options Overview

1. Up-Sells

  • Enabled:

    • Purpose: Activates the display of up-sell products on the platform.
    • Effect: Customers see suggested higher-end or complementary items during their shopping journey.
    • When to Use: Enable this option to promote additional sales and improve customer satisfaction with better product recommendations.
  • Maximum Products Count:

    • Purpose: Limits the number of up-sell products displayed to the customer.
    • Effect: Controls the visual clutter and ensures focused recommendations.
    • When to Use: Adjust this based on your catalog size and design preferences.
  • Manually Added Products:

    • Purpose: Allows manual selection of specific up-sell products.
    • Effect: Overrides automated recommendations with your chosen products.
    • When to Use: Use this to ensure precise control over up-sell suggestions.
  • Show In Stock Products Only:

    • Purpose: Limits the display of up-sell products to items currently in stock.
    • Effect: Prevents customer frustration caused by promoting unavailable products.
    • When to Use: Enable this to maintain a positive customer experience.
  • Data Gathered Period:

    • Purpose: Defines the time frame for analyzing sales and browsing data to recommend up-sell products.
    • Effect: Influences the relevance of automated suggestions.
    • When to Use: Adjust this based on your business’s sales trends.
  • Data Source:

    • Purpose: Specifies the source of data used to generate recommendations (e.g., sales history, browsing behavior).
  • Status:

    • Purpose: Filters up-sell products based on their status (e.g., active, inactive).
    • Effect: Ensures only active products are promoted.
  • Conditions:

    • Category Condition: Limits up-sell recommendations to products within specific categories.

2. Related Products

  • Enabled:

    • Purpose: Activates the display of related products on the platform.

    • When to Use: Enable this option to increase average order value by suggesting frequently bought-together items.
  • Show in Popup After Add to Cart:

    • Purpose: Displays related products in a popup after a customer adds an item to their cart.
    • Effect: Captures customer attention for additional purchases.
    • When to Use: Enable this to enhance cross-selling opportunities during the checkout process.
  • Maximum Products Count:

    • Purpose: Limits the number of related products displayed.
    • Effect: Keeps the display manageable and visually appealing.
  • Automatic Related Products:

    • Purpose: Enables automated selection of related products based on configured conditions.
