The Rental Item Logs feature in the Admin Dashboard serves as a comprehensive record-keeping system for all rental-related activities for each individual rental item in your inventory. It allows administrators to track actions, monitor order progress, and maintain an audit trail of rental transactions. This feature ensures transparency and helps in resolving disputes, tracking user activities, and optimizing operational efficiency.
What It Is Used For
The Rental Logs section is used to:
Maintain an Audit Trail: Keep detailed records of all changes, updates, and actions performed on rental orders.
Track Order Progress: Monitor the timeline of actions for each rental order, including creation, updates, dispatch, intake, and closure.
Monitor User Activity: Identify which user performed specific actions on orders or inventory.
Resolve Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to rental orders.
How to Use the "Rental Item Logs" Feature
Step 1: Access the Rental Item Logs Section
Navigate to Admin Dashboard > Rentals > Rental Item Logs.
The main screen displays a list of logs with key details such as:
Order ID: The rental order of the associated action.
Product SKU: Individual product SKUs.
Starting / Ending Dates: Timestamp of when the action occurred.
Transport Details: How your customer took possession.
Etc.
Step 2: Use Filters to Locate Specific Logs
Use the Filter Options at the top of the page to narrow down the log entries.
Apply the selected filters to refine the log list. You can search for multiple variables at the same time.
Step 3: View Log Details
Click on any log entry to view detailed information, including:
Order Number: Linked to the original order of which the item was a part.
Product Information: Link to detailed product information for this item.
Order Status: Current status of the associated order.
Item Quantity: How many of this item were included in the order.
Timestamp: Exact date and time of the action.
Associated Entities: Links to related entities such as rental orders, customers, or inventory items.
