Configuring Store Credit Settings

Purpose of Store Credit Settings

The Store Credit feature in the Any.Rentals platform allows businesses to provide flexible credit options for their customers. Store credits can be used as a form of payment, refunded to customers for canceled or returned rentals, or even shared between customers. This feature is accessible through Admin Dashboard > Configuration > Rental Settings > Store Credit.

Settings and Options Overview

1. General Settings

This section configures the foundational aspects of the Store Credit feature, including how it is applied and displayed within the platform.

  • Enable Store Credits:

    • Purpose: Activates the Store Credit functionality across the platform.
    • Effect: Enables customers to use and manage store credits during checkout or account transactions.
    • When to Use: Turn on this option if your business wants to offer store credits as a payment or refund option.
  • Enable "Send Credit to Friend":

    • Purpose: Allows customers to transfer store credits to another customer’s account.
    • Effect: Adds an option for customers to share their store credits.
    • When to Use: Enable this feature to encourage customer engagement and referrals by letting them share credits with others.
  • Enable Refund To Store Credit (default value for credit memo):

    • Purpose: Sets store credit as the default refund method for credit memos.
    • Effect: Simplifies the refund process by prioritizing store credit for returns or cancellations.
    • When to Use: Use this setting to streamline refunds and encourage customers to use their refunded amount for future rentals.
  • Apply Store Credit to Tax:

    • Purpose: Determines if store credits can be applied to cover tax amounts during checkout.
    • Effect: Store credits reduce the taxable amount if enabled.
    • When to Use: Enable this option if local tax regulations permit applying store credits to taxes.
  • Apply Store Credit Discount After Tax:

    • Purpose: Configures whether store credit discounts are calculated after tax has been applied.
    • Effect: Alters the order of operations for store credit application and tax calculation.
    • When to Use: Adjust this based on your business’s tax compliance and calculation preferences.
  • Paths of Templates to Add Store Credit Block Before:

    • Purpose: Defines where the store credit block appears on the checkout or payment pages.
    • Usage: Enter the template paths where you want the store credit block to display.
    • When to Use: Customize this setting to align the credit block with your platform’s layout and design.

2. Email Notification Settings

This section controls the email notifications related to store credit updates, ensuring customers are informed about changes to their balances.

  • Enable Balance Update Email:

    • Purpose: Activates email notifications for changes to a customer’s store credit balance.
    • Effect: Sends automatic emails whenever store credits are added, deducted, or transferred.
    • When to Use: Enable this option to keep customers informed and maintain transparency.
  • Template of Balance Update Email:

    • Purpose: Specifies the email template used for balance update notifications.
    • Usage: Select or customize a template that aligns with your brand’s messaging.
    • When to Use: Use this setting to ensure the notifications are clear, professional, and consistent with your communication style.
