Admin Dashboard > CMS > Pages

Purpose

The CMS Pages section in the Admin Dashboard is designed for managing the content displayed on the website. This feature allows administrators to create, edit, organize, and control the visibility of custom content pages, enabling greater flexibility and control over the site's informational and promotional content.

Use Cases

  • Create static content pages such as "About Us," "Contact Us," or "Terms and Conditions."
  • Edit existing pages to keep content updated.
  • Organize the layout and structure of pages to enhance user experience.

How to Add a New CMS Page

  1. Navigate to CMS Pages:

    • Go to Admin Dashboard > CMS > Pages.
    • Click on Add New Page.
  2. Configure Page Information:

    • Page Title: Enter the title of the page. This will appear as the heading of the page.
    • URL Key: Define a unique URL key (e.g., "about-us") for the page. This will determine the page's URL on the frontend.
    • Store View: Select the store view(s) where the page should be visible.
    • Status: Set the page status to "Enabled" or "Disabled."
  3. Add Page Content:

    • Use the Content editor to design the page. This editor supports text formatting, images, links, and other media.
    • Optionally include widgets or custom HTML for advanced layouts.
  4. Meta Information:

    • Enter Meta Title, Meta Keywords, and Meta Description to optimize the page for search engines.
  5. Design Options:

    • Choose a Layout Template (e.g., 1-column, 2-column, or custom layout).
    • Optionally add custom CSS or XML layout updates.
  6. Save and Preview:

    • Click Save Page to store the page.
    • Preview the page by visiting the URL in a web browser.

Managing Existing CMS Pages

  1. View All Pages:

    • Navigate to Admin Dashboard > CMS > Pages to see a list of all pages.
    • Use filters to search for specific pages by title, URL key, or status.
  2. Edit a Page:

    • Click on the page you wish to edit.
    • Update the content, meta information, or settings as needed.
    • Save changes and preview the updated page.
  3. Delete a Page:

    • Select the checkbox next to the page(s) you wish to delete.
    • Click Delete and confirm the action.
  4. Duplicate a Page:

    • Open an existing page.
    • Use the Save As New Page option to duplicate it, then modify the duplicate as needed.

Frontend Visibility of CMS Pages

  • Navigation:

    • CMS pages can be linked to navigation menus, footers, or widgets to make them easily accessible to users.
  • Search:

    • Pages are searchable on the frontend, depending on the website's search configuration.
  • Custom Links:

    • Administrators can create custom links to CMS pages in banners, widgets, or other pages.

    • Use descriptive and unique meta titles and descriptions for each page.
    • Choose URL keys that are concise and relevant.
