Purpose of the Add New Review Feature

The Add New Review feature within the All Reviews section allows Admins to manually create and add customer reviews for products or services. This functionality is particularly useful for:

  • Adding feedback received through offline channels, such as in-store or email.
  • Creating placeholder reviews for new products to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Rectifying technical issues where customer-submitted reviews failed to register online.

What This Feature Is Used For

  1. Showcasing Feedback:

    • Highlight customer feedback for products or services even if submitted through non-digital channels.
  2. Improving Product Credibility:

    • Add initial reviews to encourage further customer participation and engagement.
  3. Rectifying Review Gaps:

    • Ensure reviews lost due to technical issues or system errors are recorded and displayed.

How to Use the Add New Review Feature

Accessing the Add New Review Page
  1. Log in to the Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Customers > Customer Reviews > All Reviews.
  3. Click on the Add New Review button in the top-right corner of the page.
Adding a New Review
  1. Select the Product or Service:

    • Use the Search or Dropdown Menu to locate the product or service the review pertains to.
  2. Enter Review Details:

    • Customer Name: Enter the name of the customer providing the review.
    • Rating: Select the rating (e.g., 1-5 stars) using the dropdown menu.
    • Review Title: Add a concise title summarizing the feedback.
    • Review Content: Provide the detailed review text.
  3. Set Review Metadata:

    • Submission Date: Specify the date of the review.
    • Status: Choose whether the review should be immediately Approved, set to Pending, or marked as Rejected.
  4. Save and Publish:

    • Click Save Review to add the review to the system. If approved, the review will appear on the product or service page.

Available Data Fields for Adding a New Review

  1. Product/Service:

    • Dropdown to select the item associated with the review.
  2. Customer Name:

    • Text field for entering the customer's name.
  3. Rating:

    • Dropdown for selecting a star rating (1-5 stars).
  4. Review Title:

    • Short title summarizing the review.
  5. Review Content:

    • Text box for entering the detailed review text.
  6. Submission Date:

    • Date picker to specify when the review was submitted.
  7. Status:

    • Options to set the review as Approved, Pending, or Rejected.

Tips for Using the Add New Review Feature

  1. Accuracy Matters:

    • Ensure all details are correctly entered to maintain the credibility of reviews.
  2. Use for Offline Feedback:

    • Incorporate positive feedback received in-person, via email, or through surveys.
  3. Approval Strategy:

    • Set reviews to Pending if additional approval is needed before publishing.
  4. Leverage for New Products:

    • Add placeholder reviews to new product listings to attract customer interest.

    • A customer provides glowing feedback in-store about a rental item. Admins can add this as a review using the feature.
