Purpose of the Feature
The Import/Export functionality in the Admin Dashboard allows rental companies to efficiently manage large volumes of product data. This tool is essential for bulk data operations, such as adding, updating, or exporting product listings and related information.
What It Is Used For

- Quickly import new products or update existing product details using CSV files.
- Export product data for analysis or migration purposes.

- Maintain standardized product information across the catalog.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of product data.

How to Use the Import/Export Feature
Accessing the Section
- Log in to the Admin Dashboard.
- Navigate to Catalog > Import/Export.
- Select one of the available actions:
- Import: Upload new or updated product data.
- Export: Download existing product data.
Step-by-Step Guide
Importing Products
Download the Sample CSV Template:
- Click on the "Download Sample CSV" link to obtain the correct format for your import file.
- Review the columns and ensure your data matches the required structure.
Prepare the Import File:
- Open the downloaded CSV in a spreadsheet editor (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
- Enter or update product data. Ensure all mandatory fields are filled out correctly.
Upload the File:
- Click on Choose File and select your prepared CSV file.
- Select the Entity Type (e.g., Products, Categories).
Validation:
- Run the validation process to check for errors in the CSV file.
- Address any validation errors before proceeding.
Complete the Import:
- Once validated, click Import to upload the data.
- Monitor the progress bar to ensure the operation completes successfully.
Exporting Products
Select Export Settings:
- Choose the Entity Type (e.g., Products, Categories).
- Define any filters to limit the data being exported (e.g., specific categories, products updated within a date range).
Generate the File:
- Click Export to generate the CSV file.
- Download the file and open it in a spreadsheet editor for review or further use.
Managing Import/Export Profiles
- Profiles: Configure reusable profiles for recurring import/export tasks with predefined settings.
- History Logs: Access logs of past import/export operations to monitor changes or troubleshoot issues.

Product Fields
- SKU: Unique identifier for each product.
- Product Name: The name of the product.
- Price: Regular price of the product.
- Special Price: Discounted price.
- Quantity: Stock level for inventory tracking.
- Category IDs: Comma-separated list of category IDs assigned to the product.
- Status: Enabled or Disabled.
- Visibility: Defines where the product is displayed (e.g., Catalog, Search).
- Meta Title: SEO title for the product.
- Meta Description: SEO description.

- Category Name: The name of the category.
- Parent Category: Specifies the parent category.

- Is Active: Determines if the category is active.
